Gauti Árnason is leader of Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn. 
He is 49 year old and born and raised in Höfn. When he was growing up his parents established, owned and operated Hótel Höfn for over 35 years. Gauti studied to be a chef in Reykjavik and moved back to Höfn 20 years ago with his family. His wife Ragnheiður is a nurse and yoga insturctor and they have together 4 children and one grandchild.
